Pirate Party Sail

Welcome All Pirates! Join the Jacksonville Sailing Meetup Group for an fun afternoon of sailing and Pirate Pool Party afterwards, sponsored by the Rudder Club of Jacksonville. Pirate costumes are welcome and encouraged as well as bathing suits to dip in the pool after sailing while sipping a cocktail.

All are welcome from complete newbies to experienced ocean sailors. It's been a while since we scheduled a sail as we have been working to prep for our club's 70th annual Mug Race, the longest river race in the world. We are looking forward to getting our Meetup Group members back on the water!

All Meetup Sailors are welcome to join the Rudder Club Pirate Pool Party after our sail. Appetizers will be provided, and the bar will be open. Showers and changing rooms are on site. We encourage everyone to bring food to grill and if desired, share. A small donation of $5-10 to the club to help cover the party costs would be appreciated.

For sailing, feel free to bring a small BYOB cooler with your beverage of choice. Skippers appreciate drinks and food to share. Glass bottles are OK but no glassware cups, only plastic or metal please. Dress in layers, wear sunscreen and only sneakers or nonskid shoes. (No heels) If you wear a hat, chose one with a strap or a cap you don't mind losing; they do get blown off at times.

We will meet 12:00 and get oriented and set sail about 12:45. We anticipate returning to the dock at 3:00 PM. (estimated). The party after sailing has no set end time; all are welcome to hang out into the night for fun, relaxing around the campfire, and socializing.

If the Meet-Up fills up, do enter the waitlist. We are sending out a call for skippers now and will be expanding the list as boats sign up. We will try to get everyone wanting to join out on the water. If things go as hoped, we will get 50+ people out sailing!
