Let’s Keep the Party Going! - Seafood and Sailing Festival

Let's all continue to live life like a song, celebrating Jimmy Buffett’s lust for life, fun and adventure - Join in the 2nd annual Let’s Keep the Party Going Seafood and Sailing Festival benefiting the Rudder Club’s Non-Profit Jr. Sailing Program.

Enjoy an afternoon fun sail followed by a seafood festival with music, all you can eat raw (shuck your own) oysters, grilled oysters, a shrimp & sausage low country boil, steamed clams, sides and more. "Smell those shrimp beginning to boil." All are welcome from complete newbies who never sailed before as well as boat owners and their crews.

Meetup Guest Passenger space on boats is limited based upon the number of boats/skippers joining. Crew/passenger seats will be assigned first come - first serve - in the order of sign up. Life jackets will be provided as needed but do bring yours if you have one. If the Meet-Up fills up, enter the waitlist. We are sending out a call for skippers now and will try to expand the list as boats sign up.

After sailing the Rudder Club will be transformed into Margaritaville for an evening party of food, music, and lively fun. The pool and bar will be open.

Saturday's Schedule of Events:

  • 12:30 Meetup member safety briefing & boat assignments
  • 1:00 - 3:30 Sailing (estimated)
  • 4:00 - till we stop Seafood Festival, Games, Music

We are suggesting voluntary cash donations of $20.00 per attendee (or what you can) with all proceeds benefiting Rudder Club's non-profit Jr. Sailing Program. All donations are appreciated. Margaritaville is donating games, brand merchandise door prizes as well as 50/50 prizes.

Non Rudder Club Boats and Skippers - We had a great time last year - Join the Fun!
How to Register - Looking to join in but haven't sailed with us yet, here is how to RSVP:

  1. Join this meetup group (it's free)
  2. Message the host (Vincent) or post a Comment noting your boat type and estimated crew size. I will add you as attending

There is no limit to the number of boats/crews sailing so don't worry about the wait list. Epping Forest Yacht Club and The Florida Yacht Club skippers may opt to join the fleet mid course and sail the southbound leg to the Rudder Club. We will try to coordinate an estimated time the fleet will pass the other clubs.

Visiting Boats are offered FREE:

  • Overnight docking (alongside pier, limited availability, max 7ft draft)

Glass bottles are OK but no glassware cups, only plastic or metal please. Dress in layers, wear sunscreen and only sneakers or nonskid shoes. (No heels) If you wear a hat, chose one with a strap or a cap you don't mind losing; they do get blown off at times. Hopefully the weather will be good with wind for sailing and reasonable temperatures.

We will meet 12:30 PM and get oriented and set sail about 1:00 PM. We anticipate returning to the dock at 3:30 PM. (estimated). The party after sailing has no set end time; all are welcome to hang out into the night, sitting around a fire and socializing.

IMPORTANT: Monitor the status of this meetup up to and including the morning of the sail! Sailing is weather dependent and the meetup my be rescheduled or cancelled depending on the weather forecast and wind conditions
