Let’s Keep the Party Going! — Fun Sail

Join us for a special day on the water at the Rudder Club of Jacksonville on November 7th, celebrating the life, music, and sailing spirit of Jimmy Buffett!

Jimmy brought together a love of the sea, the freedom of sailing, great music, and the joy of sharing good times with friends. We’re celebrating that spirit with a fun sail on the St. Johns River, a regatta happening the same day, and a waterfront party afterward. It’s a chance to honor Jimmy’s legacy, enjoy our sailing community, and embrace that laid-back island attitude he made famous.

We’ll gather at the club at 11:00 AM for introductions and a safety briefing, then head out for our fun sail at approximately 11:30 AM, returning around 2:00 PM.

The regatta will be underway, giving us an opportunity to enjoy the racing and see boats approaching the finish line. After our sail, head ashore for the Regatta Finish Line Party and keep the celebration going with fellow sailors, friends, and Buffett fans.

What to Expect

• 11:00 AM: Gather at the Rudder Club for introductions and a safety briefing.
• 11:30 AM–2:00 PM: Enjoy a fun sail on the water, weather permitting.
• After sailing: Head ashore for the Regatta Finish Line Party with waterfront fun and refreshments available for purchase.

What to Bring

• BYOB is welcome! Bring your own beverages, including alcoholic beverages, and snacks to enjoy aboard.
• Bring sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and plenty of water.
• Please enjoy alcoholic beverages responsibly and follow your skipper’s safety instructions.

A Day with a Purpose

This celebration supports the Rudder Club Junior Sailing Program and Jimmy Buffett’s Singing for Change, with support from Margaritaville. Donations (cash only) are greatly appreciated.

Boat space is limited, so please sign up early. A Meetup RSVP does not necessarily guarantee a seat once boat capacity is reached. Do enter the waitlist as we are putting out a call for skippers and will modify the attendance limit once the number of boats is confirmed.
