Book club - Group discussion on 'Entangled Life' by Merlin Sheldrake

Let's meet for a first ever book club to talk together about 'Entangled Life' by Merlin Sheldrake!

The only preparation needed is that you read the book, and the host will help guiding the discussion.

We will focus on two chapters to facilitate reading and discussion, so you don't have to read the whole book (of course you are welcome to if you want!): these are chapters 'Mycelial minds' and 'Radical mycology.'

This is a great occasion to meet new friends, learn something new about the incredible world of fungi, and practice your English, no matter your level.

'Entangled Life' is a non-fiction book about fungi (jamur jamur), but written in such a beautiful way that it seems like reading a novel! Fungi are visible mushrooms and also mycelia, spores, lichens, mould, and yeast, and crucial for many aspects of life.

The book covers topic such as ecology, symbiosis and lichens, do-it-yourself mycology, citizen science, 'wood wide web' and mycorrhiza, hallucinogenic mushrooms, and much more.

No previous knowledge about fungi is needed, but this will be a discussion rather than a presentation, so it's important that you read the book! You can Google it, there is plenty information and interview online, if you want to know more.

The host is slightly obsessed about fungi, and always happy to learn something new and meet new people.

The book club will be at Dia.Lo.Gue, a great art space in the heart of Jakarta (Kemang). After the book discussion we can hang out and have a chat about anything in a food court nearby.
