This event is for free (except for optional museum entries and food and drink you consume) and will be run by locals and persons who know the area well. Please respect RSVP as a courtesy to the organisers and attendees in the waitlist. Repeated no-shows will be removed from the group. Thank you for your understanding.
We will meet in front of Museum Bank Mandiri and end with a lunch at Café Batavia or a café close by. A breakdown of destinations and locations is below. Please consider that the exact schedule, aside from start and end time, might change on the spot. Be on time to join the group or you might not be able to find us anymore.
Duration is approximately 4 hours, including optional lunch. Please bring comfortable walking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, an open mind for cultural exploration. We will go with any weather, even if it rains!
We encourage participants to engage respectfully with locals, take photographs in appropriate locations, and embrace the rich cultural diversity that Chinatown offers.

Vihara Dharma Bhakti: Vihara Dharma Bhakti, also known as 金德院, is a klenteng completed in 1650, the oldest Chinese temple in Jakarta
Pancoran Chinatown Point: Bustling Shopping Centre with a colorful backdrop dishing up old-fashioned Chinese specialties.
Pancoran Street: Street in the heart of Chinatown where people have been managing family-run businesses for decades. From its "entry gate", one can spot a dense-network of outlets and stalls hawking Chinese traditional medicine as well as food
Petak Enam: Vast hall with Chinese architectural elements, full of food vendors selling regional specialties.
Old Town (Kota Tua): Narrow streets lined with captivating architecture that seamlessly blend traditional elements with a modern twist. Ancient temples, intricate pagodas, and beautifully adorned façades that narrate stories of the past.
Kawasan Kali Besar: Channel connecting Sunda Kelapa in the north to the south part in old town of Jakarta, parallel to Ciliwung River
Toko Merah: Toko Merah is a Dutch colonial landmark in Jakarta Old Town, Indonesia. Built in 1730, it is one of the oldest buildings in Jakarta.
Jembatan Kota Intan: Kota Intan Bridge is a hanging bridge located at Kali Besar of Kota Tua in Jakarta. It is the oldest bridge in Indonesia that was built in 1628 by the Dutch East India Company
Taman Fatahillah: Fatahillah Square is the historical center of the old Batavia. The square is located at the center of Jakarta Old Town. Today the square is a tourist area home to the Jakarta History Museum, Wayang Museum and Fine Art and Ceramics Museum in Kota, Jakarta
