High Availability & Disaster Recovery with Kafka
Abstract:
High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) are essential for maintaining robust data streaming with Apache Kafka. HA in Kafka is achieved through replication, partitioning, and automated leader election, ensuring data accessibility despite broker failures. DR focuses on data integrity and minimizing downtime during catastrophic events, using strategies like cross-data center replication and automated failover. We will diacuss these practices ensure Kafka's resilience and reliability, maintaining continuous service and data protection during unforeseen disruptions.
Bio:
Andreas is a Senior Solutions Engineer at Confluent who has more than 10 years of experience in Enterprise Integration, Microservices and Cloud in various industries. He is an IT Architecture practitioner and has been doing technical consultation, technical advisory and design for medium-to-large solutions.
His current focus is how to help organisations in data-in-motion journey.
