Fraud Detection System using Kafka and Flink

Abstract:
This session walks through how to build a real-time fraud detection system powered by Apache Kafka and Apache Flink, from streaming transaction ingestion to stateful event processing. We’ll explore four complementary detection patterns: simple high-value thresholds, historical spending patterns, geographic anomalies using the Haversine formula, and a combined rule that integrates both behavioral and spatial data.
