Let’s go to Akita prefecture to hike Akitakomagatake and enjoy the foliage at Tazawa lake!

Mount Akita-Komagatake (秋田駒ヶ岳) is, at 1637 meters, one of the highest mountains in Akita Prefecture and the second highest mountain in Towada-Hachimantai National Park. It is an active volcano that last erupted in 1970-71. The mountain has multiple peaks and a network of relatively easy trails with attractive views that make for a rewarding few hours of hiking.

Lake Tazawa (Tazawako) in Akita Prefecture features brilliant autumn foliage from mid-October to early November. The deep blue, lapis lazuli water contrasts with vibrant red, orange, and yellow beech and maple leaves along the 20-kilometer shoreline. When the timing is right, we can see a light up.

We will take a car from Kakunodate station and explore the area and also visit Tazawa lake on Day 1. We will stay at a hotel in Kakunodate area with natural onsen. On Day 2, we will hike Akitakagatake. Will stop by onsen and head back to Tokyo!

We will end the trip around 17:00 on 25th but feel free to extend your stay as you like.

秋田県で秋田駒ヶ岳をハイキングし、田沢湖の紅葉を楽しみましょう！

秋田駒ヶ岳は標高1637メートルで、秋田県内でも有数の高峰であり、十和田八幡平国立公園では2番目に高い山です。1970年から71年にかけて最後に噴火した活火山です。この山には複数の峰があり、比較的歩きやすい登山道が網の目のように張り巡らされており、魅力的な景色を楽しみながら、数時間の充実したハイキングを楽しむことができます。

秋田県の田沢湖では、10月中旬から11月上旬にかけて鮮やかな紅葉が見られます。20キロメートルにわたる湖岸沿いでは、ラピスラズリのような深い青色の湖水が、ブナやカエデの鮮やかな赤、オレンジ、黄色の紅葉と美しいコントラストをなしています。タイミングが合えば、紅葉のライトアップも楽しめます。

1日目は、田沢湖駅から車で移動し、田沢湖を訪れます。その後角館の方へ向かいエリアを散策。角館付近の天然温泉のあるホテルに宿泊します。2日目は、朝から秋田駒ケ岳をハイキングします。下山後は温泉に立ち寄ってから東京へ戻ります。
