About the Hike:

The hike from Mount Jinba (陣馬山) to Mount Takao (高尾山) is one of the classic ridge hikes west of Tokyo. It is a great full-day outing, with forest trails, mountain viewpoints, and several peaks along the way.
Following are few of the many peaks we will be traversing.

1. Mt. Jinba (陣馬山)
857 m elevation
Famous for its open summit and panoramic views, including Mt. Fuji on clear days.

2. Mt. Kagenobu (景信山)
727 m elevation
A scenic ridge section with forest paths and summit viewpoints.

3 Mt. Shiroyama (城山)
670 m elevation
A popular rest stop before the final stretch toward Takao.

4. Mt. Takao (高尾山)
599 m elevation
Finish at the summit, then descend toward Takaosanguchi Station.

Difficulty:

  • Upper Beginner and requires good stamina and fitness level
  • Hiking distance is 18km, with 1200m of elevation
  • It will take around 8 hours depending on pace
  • Though it's a bit long hike but gentle.

Rough Schedule:
Nov21

  • 07:15 Meetup at Takao staion
  • 07:22 Take bus for trailhead
  • 08:00 Start hike
  • 17:00 Arrive at Takao sanguchi station

Participation fee :

  • 1000 yen if paid in advance
  • 1500 yen on day of hike
  • Participation fee is for planing and organizing, nothing else is covered by participation fee ( for example Insurance, food, bathing etc)

Mode of Transportation:

  • Public transport

To join this trip:

  • Must have 1 day sports insurance which covers mountain climbing and rescue .
  • You can't join this event without hiking insurance.

  • Waterproof/windproof outer layer
  • Hiking shoes
  • Hiking poles
  • Headlamp
  • Small backpack with rain cover
  • Trail snacks, lunch water
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Dry and Wet tissue
