Less than an hour’s ride from Richmond, let’s hike York River State Park. We will be hiking on dirt paths and gravel with gentle hills in spots.

Very scenic park. We will hike the lazy swamp area and then to Fossil Beach.
Wear good traction shoes, no cotton socks to avoid blisters, bring sunscreen, bug spray for nasty ticks and water.

Dogs are welcome on this hike. No retractable leashes, though. Keep your pooch away from hikers to avoid injuries. Bring water for dog and flea tick protection is recommended but not human spray.
Park fee is $5 unless you have a park pass.

We will leave promptly at 11 am so aim on being there by 10:50. Allow for traffic on 64 also.
