April 15, 6 pm Petersburg Power Walk & Brew
Details
Join us for a brisk 4-mile-ish end-of-day hike through the historic streets of Petersburg and along the Appomattox River trails. This is a fitness-forward walk at an upbeat pace—perfect for getting your steps in, clearing your head, and enjoying the character and charm of the city as the day winds down. We’ll maintain roughly a 17-minute-mile pace. While this isn’t a speed walk, it’s definitely not a stroll. This is a continuous, brisk walk with minimal stops, and participants should be comfortable maintaining that pace for the full distance. If you typically walk at a more relaxed or social pace, this one will likely feel too fast.
We’ll meet at 6 pm and start promptly. Expect a mix of historic architecture, quiet streets, riverside trails, and good company.
After the hike, those who’d like can stick around for an optional dinner and drinks at Trapezium Brewing Co (www.trapeziumbrewing.com). They offer beer, wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic options. If the weather’s nice, we’ll grab a spot outside.
PARKING: If you plan to stay afterwards and purchase something at Trapezium Brewery, feel free to park in their parking lot on 3rd street across from their location. Otherwise, please park on the street, not in their lot. If no parking is available on 3rd Street, you can try River Street or other nearby streets.
WHERE WE'LL MEET: On the street in front of Trapezium's outdoor seating at 423 3rd St, Petersburg, VA 23803
