Important to know

We plan to pack a lot of sights and sounds into this 3.5 mile hike. The good news is this is mostly an urban hike with minimum requirement to be able to ford a stream, or possess the ability to recognize toxic plants, negotiate rocks, roots, fallen trees, damp trail conditions, stairs, steep ascents, vines, low hanging branches, culverts, uncertain footing on hills, reptiles, spider webs, scorpions, birds of prey, or migratory waterfowl.

Meet at the terminus of 32nd Street on the West side of Chimborazo Park and take a morning hike of approximately 3.0 miles from the site of Chimborazo Hospital to Libby Hill Park, the Poe Museum and Jefferson Park. We'll pass by Sub Rosa Bakery and have a planned stop for those who want to make a purchare. A pleasant walk on M Street and 35th Street through neighborhoods that predate the Civil War will get us back to Chimborazo Park.
If you are unfamiliar with the meet up location, add a few minutes to your travel schedule so you won't get left behind.
If you don't have a clue about the location of Chimorazo Park, click on the link to "Chimborazo Park" located just above "How to Find Us" in the event description. An interactive map will be displayed and when "Directions" (on the left) is selected the best route from your current location to the Meet Up rendezvous spot will be revealed to you. Before the hike be sure to place anything that might invite theft in your trunk before you leave your car parked while you are hiking.

Participants should be able to maintain a pace of 2.5 miles per hour. On street parking is available but allow enough time to locate a space. Curbside parking is available adjacent to the park on streets too numerous to mention. This is a very dog friendly hike.
