Important to know

This is an eazy-peezy 3.2 mile urban hike. Well, there are a couple of hills at the beginning and at the end. It's Richmond, right? So the good news is there is a minimum requirement to be able to ford a stream, or possess the ability to recognize toxic plants, negotiate rocks, roots, fallen trees, damp trail conditions, stairs, steep ascents, vines, low hanging branches, culverts, uncertain footing on hills, reptiles, spider webs, scorpions, birds of prey, or migratory waterfowl. But beware of those unaligned brick sidewalks that have been there since day one! And the branches that project out over the walkways from someone's garden.

We will meet at the Stone Brewing parking lot on Williamsburg Road and take a morning hike of approximately 3.0 miles through Gillie Creek Park, to the site of Chimborazo Hospital to St. John's Church, to Libby Hill Park, and back to ou starting point.
If you are unfamiliar with the meet up location, add a few minutes to your travel schedule so you won't get left behind. You may encounter road construction at the intersection of E. Main St & Williamsburg Rd. Best to avoid this.
If you don't have a clue about the location of the Stone Brewery parking lot on Williamsburg Road, click on the arrow at "How to Find Us" in the event description. An interactive map will be displayed and when "Directions" (on the left) is selected the best route from your current location to the Meet Up rendezvous spot will be revealed to you. Before the hike be sure to place anything that might invite theft in your trunk before you leave your car parked while you are hiking.

Participants should be able to maintain a pace of 2.5 miles per hour. This is a very dog friendly hike.
