Anticipated weather on hike day.
This three mile hike follows an isolated trail along the river's edge and presents an opportunity to see some of Maymont from a different perspective! Starting at the Texas Beach parking lot, we'll cross the canal and railroad trcks to Texas Beach. Then we'll follow the Texas Beach Trail west past Foushee's Mill and past the Pump House.
After the Pump House we'll find the North Bank Trail and make the circuit back to our starting point. This hike will be mostly over rustic trails with few significant elevation changes. Some ability to negotiate tree roots, rustic trails, low hanging vines, toxic plants, culverts, reptiles, damp trail conditions, steep ascents & desents, spider webs, fallen trees, scorpions, migratory waterfowl, and river rocks is desirable. This hike will begin at the posted time, not five or ten minutes later. If you are unfamiliar with the meet up location, add a few minutes to your travel schedule so you can find us before we leave.
