Aizu-Komagatake is one of Honshu’s finest winter mountains—remote, quiet, and deeply rewarding. Though the route is non-technical, it is a long and physically demanding snow hike requiring good endurance and winter preparedness.
📅 Day Hike Itinerary (Sunday, 1 Feb 2026)
Early Morning – Tokyo Departure
• 04:00 – Depart Tokyo
• Carpool or coordinated transport (details via LINE)

Morning – Trailhead & Ascent
• 08:30 – Arrive Minamiaizu / Trailhead parking
• 08:45 – Gear check
• Snowshoes fitted
• 12-point crampons ready
• Poles, layers, food confirmed
• 09:00 – START HIKING
Ascent
• Long stair section at the start (steady pace)
• Gradual climb through snowy forest
• Steeper approach near upper slopes
• Reach Aizu-Komagatake Summit
• Short lunch break
• Photos & rest (weather dependent)

• Descend via same route
• Careful pacing as snow softens later in the day
