Note 1: Due to non-availability of accommodation at Kumotori Sanso on April 25, this plan has been changed to a day hike.

Note 2: Depending on your hiking speed, we may descend even after sunset - carrying headlamp is must!

Join me for a challenging day hike to Mt. Kumotori (雲取山), the highest mountain in Tokyo! Expect a long but rewarding hike with great views and a solid endurance day.

  • Mountain: Mt. Kumotori (雲取山)
  • Route: Kamosawa Route Trailhead (鴨沢ルート) – up & down same way
  • Distance: ~20 km
  • Elevation Gain: ~1,500–1,700 m
  • Duration: ~9–10 hours
  • Difficulty: Hard (experienced hikers only)

### 🚗 / 🚌 Logistics Options

Option 1 – Join the Car from Tokyo

  • Meet at Nishikasai Station (Tozai Line)
  • Departure: 6:10 AM
  • Estimated Cost: ~¥2,000 per person or less

Option 2 – Join by Public Transport

  • Take the 8:35 AM bus from Okutama Station
  • Bus: 奥10 – Tabayama Village Office (Okutama Lake)
  • Get off at Taba ES Bus Stop

  • This is a long and physically demanding day hike
  • Please join only if you’re comfortable with the distance and elevation gain

An organizer fee of ¥1,000 will be collected per participant to support the Meetup subscription cost.
