Annual Pool Party - Yukata de Obon!

Details
Our Biggest Event of the Year!
We smash a lot of fun Japanese summer traditions into one big-bang evening! We start with a potluck and nagashi somen (flowing noodles--super-fun!). Then a blind-folded suika-ware (watermelon bust), followed by Bon-Odori Festival dance, toro nagashi (floating lanterns to guide the departed) and finally fireworks and a cool-off in the pool!
Join us! Please read all the details below.
The event starts at 6pm.
If you have them please wear Matsuri Happi (festival wear), Yukata (Japanese casual summer kimono) or Jinbei (Casual male wear). If you have Uchiwa (circle hand fan) bring those too! There is a changing room so we also encourage you to also bring a swimsuit to change into to cool off in the pool.
We will provide tables and chairs, plates, utensils, cups, water, mugicha, sodas, and Toro lanterns! :-) Please RSVP so we know the proper amounts of tables, chairs, etc.
We will be collecting $2 per person for this event.
Things to bring:
o A potluck dish! It will help us get a variety if you post what you are bringing in the comments!
o Drinks. We will have water, sodas, and mugicha (cold barley tea) any other drink please bring your own (alcoholic drinks are ok).
o A swimsuit and towel! Even if you don't intend to swim bring them, you won't regret it! There is a bathroom and changing room out by the pool.
o Matsuri Happi, Yukata or Jinbei if you have one (not required) and a fan (Uchiwa or Sensu)
o When you come please enter by the side gate (not the front door).
o If you know someone else who is going and can carpool, that would be nice to help us with parking.
o Please keep in mind there is an unfenced diving pool so if you bring any young children they need to be monitored at all times.
Looking forward to seeing you at the event !
