This is a social group whose members are interested in the culture of Japan. We meet regularly just to socialize and have fun by having dinners, parties, enjoying good Japanese food and drink. We speak both Japanese and English at events.

Lunch at Tokyo Sushi - Wednesdays at Noon

Hi, everyone! I'm making it a habit to go (back) to the gym. Workouts mean extra calories and proteins, right? So why not go to a sushi place for the lunch special?

Next door is Tokyo Sushi! Anyone want to come? It's on weekdays during lunch hour, so I don't expect many, or any, people to join. Even so, you are welcome to.

I think most lunch specials are about $12-16.

They don't have black seaweed anymore! ::cries:: But the sashimi lunch was still pretty good a few weeks ago. Worth the lunch price for sure.

If you would prefer later, 1 or 2pm, please message and we'll see what everyone who is signed up can do. There shouldn't be a problem really.

The City of Tampa's Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Festival returns to Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park on Saturday, March 28, 2026, beginning at 12:00 PM.

Join us as we celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) heritage with an afternoon filled with vibrant cultural performances representing diverse Asian countries & Pacific islands, delicious traditional foods, authentic merchandise, and engaging informational exhibits.

This free, community event is hosted by the Mayor's Asian American Pacific Islander Advisory Council (MAAPIC).

The purpose of the City of Tampa Mayor's Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Advisory Council is to advise the Mayor and the City Council on issues affecting the AAPI community and promote and celebrate the AAPI culture and heritage. The Advisory Council also seeks to foster greater communication and collaboration between the City of Tampa and the AAPI community, and to serve as a resource for AAPI residents and organizations in the Tampa Bay area.
