What we’re about
The Japanese Art & Cultural Center offers various Japanese martial art, fine art, language, and exercise classes for every member of extended local communities. All of our martial art teachers are volunteers. Japanese language classes, both private & group lessons, flower arrangement, musical instrument (Koto - Japanese harp, Shamisen - Japanese guitar) and children's classes are also available. All proceeds will benefit the Center.
Look out for our Open House on Saturday, August 26, 2023 to take free trial lessons. Free musical performance, free Japanese tutoring, and Rummage Sale are offered. Come and join the fun!

JACC will host this year's Summer Festival & JACC Open House event on September 6th and 7th. For full details of the event, please refer to the attached flyer, or visit our website at: https://www.jpnarts.org/
Everyone is invited to enjoy shaved ice and participate in traditional games such as balloon fishing, ring toss, and goldfish scooping. All festival revenue will benefit JACC. Attendees dressed in a kimono or yukata (summer kimono) will receive a free bowl of shaved ice.
The festival will also include our annual Rummage Sale. If you have salable items you'd like to donate for this fundraiser, please bring them directly to JACC during the festival hours, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM on both Saturday and Sunday. We also need many shoppers and some volunteers.
The JACC Open House will feature free introductory lessons for new or prospective students. Each class will offer trial lessons for visitors and spectators, along with short demonstrations of their arts. We will also have Koto (Japanese harp) and Shamisen (Japanese guitar) concerts performed by Ishikawa Sensei and her students. This will be followed by a Nihonbuyo (Japanese dance) performance by Kubota Sensei, who will begin her dance lessons in October. Kubota Sensei can also assist anyone interested in wearing a kimono.
Please invite your friends, neighbors, and colleagues who might be interested in our classes. We welcome and appreciate your continued support, participation, and community involvement.
