Experience a Traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony in Douglas, Cork
My name is Takanari Nishi. My wife, Akie, has participated in Japanese tea ceremonies in Japan, London, and Frankfurt, and we now live in Cork. She will be leading the tea ceremony at this Meetup.
Would you like to experience the rich traditions of the Japanese tea ceremony? During this gathering, you will have the opportunity to witness both traditional and modern approaches to the preparation and serving of tea.
The Japanese tea ceremony is an art form that dates back more than 1,000 years. It is not merely about drinking tea, but a carefully choreographed ritual of graceful and deliberate movements. Becoming a tea master requires at least 10 years of dedicated study and practice.
The essence of the tea ceremony lies in Harmony (和), Respect (敬), Purity (清), and Tranquility (寂).
The ceremony embodies the spirit of Japanese hospitality. Please enjoy this special opportunity, known in Japanese as 一期一会 (Ichigo-Ichie) — “a once-in-a-lifetime encounter.”
