Japanese English Learning & Social
Details
We meet at the Food Court at The Source OC in Buena Park.
This is a biweekly Japanese/English study group at the 3rd (top) floor Food Court; however, please check comments on the day of the event to get an approximate location of the tables.
Important: People often get confused where we meet. Please note that the 3rd floor parking is at the same level as the mall's 2nd floor. So, if you park on the 3rd level, you are not at the right level. The mall's 3rd level is the highest floor on the mall. Also, we will not be sitting in or outside any stand-alone restaurant or shops. Instead, we will be sitting in a large room food court with multiple walk-up counters. There are 2 food courts. Go to the 3rd (top) floor food court. Here are basic instructions. Find the escalators. Go all the way to the top. Enter in the nearest doors from the escalators. You will be inside the 3rd floor food court. Look at the comments and it will indicate the general area where we are sitting. Typically, I like to choose an area near those doors, but sometimes it is busy. Look at the comments and I will indicate the area to find us.
There will be a small white sign on the table labeled "Japanese English Meet-Up". This is a compliment to the other biweekly Sunday meetup (alternate weekends) at South Bay Galleria (hosted by Yumi) but will be conducted in Orange County instead.
We hope to have a good mix of English and Japanese learners that can help each other improve their language skills. Bring your books or materials with you. You are not required to speak Japanese since all levels are welcomed to attend.
We request that everyone buys some food or drink in order to stay on the mall's management's good side. There is quite a selection of Asian food here with mostly Korean cuisine. We could have a small group go out afterward.
PLEASE NOTE:
- This is NOT a dating meetup. There are other meetups for that. Please be respectful of and courteous to our members. Pests will be asked to leave.
- Please report any inappropriate behavior immediately to the organizer Darrell. As an organizer, I hold this meetup with good intentions, which first and foremost are an appreciation of Japanese culture and language, and a desire to study and learn.
- Learning/knowing Japanese is not a requirement. Some attend for socializing as well.
