Welcome to a small, real Japanese home cooking session!

Same as last time, we’ll make:

  • Classic Miso Soup (Tofu & Seaweed)
  • Pork Miso Soup (Tonjiru)
  • Salmon Miso Soup

*Ingredients can be adjusted depending on dietary preferences.

Last time, based on the attendees’ preferences, the session became more of a relaxed demonstration-style workshop where everyone watched me cooking and asked questions along the way.

Of course, if you’d prefer to be more hands-on and do some cooking yourself, you’re very welcome to!

I’m still figuring out the best format for these sessions, so for now I’m keeping things flexible depending on the group 😊

I’ll also prepare a few simple side dishes, pickles, and something like rice in advance — and you’re very welcome to take some home.

I’d kindly ask for a small contribution of around £5 per person to help cover ingredients and a bit of the utility costs.
This is simply to share the cost rather than a ticket fee.

We’ll mainly use English, but I’m not a native speaker, so thank you for your understanding 🙇‍♀️
If you’re interested in using a bit of Japanese too, that’s very welcome!

Notice:

  • This event takes place in my home, so I’d really appreciate your respect for the space.
    Please note that shoes are not worn indoors.
  • I also have two cats, so if you have allergies, dislike cats, or are not comfortable around animals, this event may not be suitable for you.
  • Meetup sometimes doesn’t display the location properly, but the event will take place in Clayton. I’ll send the full address privately after confirmation.
  • I completely understand that some people may feel more comfortable attending with a friend 😉

However, the Meetup system can be a little complicated, and allowing guests may make it difficult for me to manage the group size properly.
Because of this, I’d really appreciate it if each person could join individually through Meetup.
