Intro to Mugai Ryu Iaido – Contact Us to Join

Curious about traditional Japanese sword arts?
Join us for an introduction to Mugai Ryu Iaido, a classical koryu style that combines precision, mindfulness, and martial application.
We are a study group, not a formal dojo — some of our members travel to Germany for direct instruction from our Sensei and advanced students, and we meet locally in North Jersey to train together. Our practice includes:

• Kata (formal solo movements)
• Kumitachi (partner drills)
• Tameshigiri (test cutting)
• Soon to include Gekiken (sparring with protective gear)

Beginners are welcome!
If you’re new to Iaido, we recommend starting with the free basics videos at www.iaido-online.com before attending — they’ll give you a strong foundation and help you decide if this is right for you. If you’d like to train in person, we can guide you in getting the minimal gear you’ll need.

We don’t charge fees or require memberships, but we do ask that participants contribute toward donations for the space where we train.
