In recent years, matcha (抹茶) green tea has become very popular all over the world. As you may know, matcha plays a very important role in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. However, learning about Japanese tea ceremony means much more than just learning how to make matcha.

Why was this so important to the samurai and monks in the past? Why is "tea ceremony" still practiced today? Why do many foreign residents of Japan practice it? Come, step into the world of deep spirituality and set your soul free.

Introduction
You will learn the basic concepts and ideas of the Japanese tea ceremony. You will also learn how to behave in a tea house and you will learn to appreciate its decoration.

Japanese Tea Ceremony / Sado(茶道)
You attend a Japanese tea ceremony. You will love the calm and serene atmosphere.

Hands-on
Make your own tea! We use very special Matcha (抹茶) from Uji. We will tell you how to drink it and we will also serve you a specially selected Japanese cake.

Duration:
60 min

Be on time.
We cannot allow latecomers to join a session once it has started. Reservations are required to guarantee your place.

The maximum number of participants is 4 people(minimum 1p).

Location Japanese tea room in Amsterdam(Buitenveldert, near the Japanese supermarket on Gelderlandplein).
