Welcome to the 日本語-English Language Exchange Bellevue event!
This event is aimed at English speakers learning Japanese and Japanese speakers learning English.

This is a casual study event. The focus is to practice the target language as well as make new friends. Feel free to bring any study materials.

There is no minimum skill level required, but at least conversational language skill in your target language is recommended.

The structure of the event is flexible depending on the needs of the group, but there will be both Japanese-only and English-only sections. Here is a sample schedule:

6:30 - Free talk and settling in
7:00 - 20 minutes Japanese
7:20 - 20 minutes English
Rotate seats
7:40 - 20 minutes Japanese
8:00 - 20 minutes English
Rotate seats
8:20 - 20 minutes Japanese
8:40 - 20 minutes English
9:00 - Event End

Everyone at the meetup is expected to respect their fellow participants. If there are any issues causing members of the group to feel uncomfortable through inappropriate behaviors, you may be asked by a host to leave the group. Please be kind as and courteous. English and Japanese speakers not only have different languages, but different cultural expectations as well.

このイベントは、日本語を学ぶ英語話者と英語を学ぶ日本人話者を対象としています。

カジュアルな勉強会です。勉強している目標言語を練習のためにあり、友達を作るのためでもありのグループです。 教材とかはご自由にお持ちください。

最低限必要なスキルはありませんが、少なくとも目標言語での会話力があることをお勧めします。

イベントの構成は参加者によって変わることがありますが、日本語のみの時間と英語のみの時間があります。以下はスケジュール例です:

18:30 - フリートーキングと受付開始
19:00 - 20分 日本語
19:20 - 20分 英語
席替え
19:40 - 20分 日本語
20:00 - 20分 英語

20:20 - 20分 日本語
20:40 - 20分 英語
21:00 - イベント終了

ミートアップでは、参加者全員が他の参加者を尊重することが求められます。 不適切な言動により、参加者に不快感を与えるような行為があった場合、ホストからグループからの退出をお願いすることがあります。 親切で丁寧な対応をお願いします。 英語圏の方と日本語圏の方では、言葉が違うだけでなく、文化的な違いもあります。
