Sessie 1
Titel: AI in the creative industry: using AI at RTL

Samenvatting/intro:
You probably all know RTL as a dominant commercial media party in the Netherlands, but you might not immediately categorize RTL as a creative and tech company, although that is what we are.
In RTL we have been using AI in many of our processes already for quite some time, think about automated subtitling, filmplanning and automatic thumbnail selection. In the last year, the availability of AI tools that guide creativity has increased and with that a great opportunity to work together as creatives with these tools has become even bigger.
During this talk I will guide you through how we, as data scientists, work together with creatives using generative AI, in a responsible manner. On top of that, there will be a sneak peak in RTLs AI kitchen, by an example of an established AI project. Hope to see you there!

About Sanne Eggengoor:
Sanne is a data scientist at RTL NL, one of the biggest media companies in the Netherlands, known for its television channels, Videoland, rtl nieuws and buienradar. She uses Python to train, test and maintain machine learning models in a variety of domains, answering questions for the business and improving user experience.
She studied Artificial Intelligence at the University of Amsterdam and Groningen.

Sessie 2
Titel: Experience the Power of Large Language Models: Unveiling the Secrets Behind AI Assistants

Samenvatting/intro:
In our daily routines, the reliance on large language models has skyrocketed. From leveraging GitHub Copilot and JetBrains AI Assistant for coding support, understanding complex code, to even composing test scripts – these models have become our indispensable partners.
We engage with ChatGPT and other GPT bots to craft presentations, summaries, and even fix our grammar and spelling. They seem to possess intelligence, but how do these AI entities truly operate? Are they genuinely intelligent, or is it just a clever illusion?
Join us on an exploration into the inner workings of these AI marvels, known as large language models. Discover the techniques that fuel their capabilities and unravel the mysteries behind their seeming intelligence.
By the end of this talk, you'll gain a comprehensive understanding of how these models function and decipher whether their intelligence is real or a sophisticated facade.

About Matthijs Tolkamp:
Matthijs has been a software developer for a while now and mostly writes Java and Kotlin programs for different clients.
He also fulfills the role of CTO at Open Web. Back in the day he studied Artificial Intelligence and while he does not directly work in
that field he is still interested in all the progress that is made and how it has become more and more a part of our daily routine with tools like github copilot and jetbrains AI assistent.
