"Redis" & "Groovy Scripting"

Details

--- The room is available from 18:15. Talks will start at 18:30 on time ---

"Redis"

Redis is an in-memory "NOSQL" data store mainly used as database, cache or a message queue. This talk explains shortly the data structures supported by Redis, describes its potential and demonstrates some useful uses cases. Some facts about security and clustering are also included.

About the author: Milan Heimschild is Senior Software Engineer at BeeOne (part of Erste Bank).

"Bash is Dead - Long Live Groovy Scripting"

Some tasks at hand are too complex for shell scripting and not large enough for a full-blown project. Siegfried Göschl used various scripting languages (Perl, Tcl, JavaScript, Ruby) over the years and finally settled for Groovy. Let's join him on his journey through Groovy Goodness and show off some cool features such as networking, JSON processing, library management, command line parsing and configuration files.

About the author: Siegfried Göschl is a long-term member of JSUG, part of the ASF community and also helps organising the GDG DevFest.
