Details
Join us for BipTalks Engineering Meetup, where we’ll explore how to work with your database – not against it – through real-world engineering examples and practical insights.
Using concrete scenarios from production systems, we’ll show how often-overlooked aspects of relational database design and usage can have a major impact on application performance. You’ll learn how to spot common pitfalls, understand what happens behind the scenes in a database engine, and make architectural decisions that help your system scale and perform better. The talk is database-engine agnostic and valuable for anyone working with data.
💡 What to expect:
- Real-world database insights – See how seemingly small decisions in database usage can significantly affect performance and stability.
- Actionable design advice – Learn how to recognize common pitfalls and make architectural choices that work in favor of your applications.
- A deeper technical perspective – Gain a clearer understanding of how relational databases operate internally and why they behave the way they do.
- Networking & fun after the talk – Connect with fellow engineers and Infobip developers, enjoy food and drinks, try out the F1 simulator, and win tickets for the Shift conference 🏎️🎉
🎤 Speaker: Borna Biljan, Principal Engineer @ Infobip
Borna Biljan is a Principal Engineer at Infobip with over 15 years of industry experience. He holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology and has built strong expertise in designing and developing complex systems. Currently, he works as a back-end engineer focused on high-throughput, highly available, low-latency systems, most often using Java technologies and MS SQL Server.
After the official part of the program, stay with us for great conversations, refreshments, and hands-on fun with the F1 simulator! 🍕🥤
