Movie Description:
The Whale is a psychological drama film directed by Darren Aronofsky. It is written by Samuel D. Hunter and based on his 2012 play of the same name. Brendan Fraser, Hong Chau (both nominated for Oscars), Sadie Sink and Samantha Morton all give strong performances. A reclusive, morbidly obese English Teacher tries to restore his relationship with his teenage daughter.
Richard Roeper of the Chicago-Sun-Times described the film as “empathetic, haunting, beautiful and moving. A heart-breaking story of a broken man”. He named it best film of the year and deemed Fraser’s performance as his career’s best.
And….the Best Actor Oscar goes to….Brendan Fraser!!!
