I'm Zachary Keeton, I've been a web dev leader in San Antonio for 13 years now. Here's me on the news during COVID: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_MK6ma0JXk). I'm self-taught (like you) and was able to break in to the industry with no experience and have since interviewed, hired, and fired scores of web devs. I know what it takes to get a job in this industry. The money and job security has been a blessing to my and my family's life. Now, I want to help others do the same.
This is a group for anyone interested in becoming a professional web developer in San Antonio. By learning JavaScript ALONE, you can build applications in the browser, on the server, in mobile applications, AND on the desktop FOR ANY INDUSTRY (medical, finance, or even robotics) - amazing!
But, learning to code is only the beginning. The hardest part of any web developer's career is landing that FIRST job. In this group, lead by a 13-year web dev veteran and hiring manager, we will 1) build code portfolios via monthly coding projects and peer reviews 2) fix up our resumes, personal web pages, and LinkedIn profiles to become attracting to hiring firms and 3) learn what it's like to be a "real" web developer on the job.
