The Hidden Cost of Environment Variables
(Ran Cohen)
Every JavaScript project starts with just a few environment variables—then things scale, and suddenly, they’re everywhere.
They keep piling up, spreading across services, breaking into different environments, and making debugging a guessing game.
In this talk, we’ll take a closer look at how environment variables fit into modern JavaScript apps, the common pitfalls they introduce, and the trade-offs developers face when managing them.
Finally, we’ll see how Configu, an open-source tool, makes working with environment variables smooth, predictable, and even fun.

Using AI in JavaScript – Open Source AI Libraries You Need to Know
(Dani Sofer)
AI is no longer limited to Python! With libraries like TensorFlow.js, WebLLM, and Ollama.js, JavaScript can now run AI models directly in the browser or on the server.
In this talk, we'll explore how JavaScript developers can integrate AI, see some real-world examples, and even run a small AI-powered project live.

Shipping Styles with your Open Source Packages
(Evyatar Alush)
Styling React components is tricky enough, but open source brings a whole new level of pain.
In this talk, we'll dive into the messy world of styling open source React components using my own project, emoji-picker-react, as a case study.
We'll explore the challenges of server-side rendering, battling with bundlers, and the eternal struggle to balance developer experience with end-user performance.
I'll break down common styling approaches and why they often fall short in the open source world, ultimately leading to my decision to create (yet another!) CSS-in-JS library.
Expect some real-world examples, a bit of live coding, and maybe even a little controversy.
Come ready to share your own styling struggles and opinions!
