HackJam NativeScript with Sebastian from Progress
Details
Hey hackers,
Get ready for a crazy week with Angular 2 and NativeScript. We're excited to have Sebastian Witalec (http://developer.telerik.com/author/switalec/), a member of the NativeScript team, joining us for a HackJam in NativeScript.
NativeScript is a free and open-source runtime for building native apps using familiar tools—Angular 2, JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS, and npm. NativeScript renders truly native user interfaces—giving your users the best performance and UX their devices can offer.
In this HackJam you’ll learn what NativeScript is, how it works, and how to use the framework to build iOS and Android apps.
This is a hands-on session; therefore, make sure you have NativeScript installed (http://docs.nativescript.org/angular/start/quick-setup)on your development machine and ready to go.
If you have Windows or Ubuntu you'll need to bring an Android device + USB cable or install Genymotion (https://www.genymotion.com/). If you have Mac - you can use the iOS simulator.
The event is limited to 40 people.
Prior to that event, we have a HackCamp of 3 days in Angular 2 (http://www.hackages.io/hackcamp-angular-2-amsterdam-edition) from the 14th to the 16th of November. You will be able to learn Angular 2 the right way and finish your learning process by building a native mobile application. You can find more information about the HackCamp here (http://www.hackages.io/hackcamp-angular-2-amsterdam-edition).
More information about the agenda will be published very soon.
If you have any questions regarding the event or the HackCamp just contact us: community@hackages.io
Happy Coding!

Sebastian Witalec is a Technical Evangelist for Telerik with over 8 years of experience in software engineering and architecture. Sebastian has passion for all types of technologies. However in the last few years his focus shifted towards cross platform Mobile development where he gained experience with Apache Cordova and NativeScript (a member of the team). He is always happy to learn about the new stuff and to pass the knowledge as far as his voice (or the wire) can take him. Sebastian is based in London, UK actively working with various Dev communities in the area. When not acting techie he is a massive football fan/player (probably bigger at heart than skills).
