What are React Hooks?

Mikhail Larchanka is a software developer since early 2000s and co-organizer of React Amsterdam. Born and raised in Belarus. Living in the Netherlands since 2015 and working as Tech Lead for Sytac B.V. Like challenges and weird sports.

React Hooks were introduced at React Conf October 2018 as a proposal for React 16.7 as a way to use state and side-effects in React function components. Whereas function components have been called functional stateless components (FSC) before, they are finally able to use state with React Hooks.

During this workshop, Michail will explain how React Hooks can be used in function components by showcasing common React Hooks such as the state and effect hooks by example.
