Welcome Aboard!
The Intro to Dragonboat Paddling session is a relaxed, engaging outing meant to introduce you to the sport of Dragon Boat Racing and is run by the Jax Fire Dragons Dragonboat Club.
We launch from behind All Wet Sports, 8550 Beach Blvd. and take you up Pottsburg Creek and back again.
The session will not be overly taxing; you will be out in the sun, and what you feel in your lungs is called fresh air! We'll only be out for an hour, but it wouldn't hurt to hydrate before your outing.Everything else you need to know:
- The session starts at 10 am, we launch at 10:30 am.
- PLEASE arrive 20 minutes early. We must issue gear, review safety protocols, and go over boat commands and register prior to launch
- Park within the gated area. The team will be finishing practice and spots will eventually open if you don't find a spot initially
- Please fill out the Liability Waiver before coming if possible.
- We will provide water, but you may bring your water bottle or a sports drink
- Dress appropriately for the water and a sunny day and expect that you may get wet or muddy (now is not the time for couture)
- Shoes, flip-flops, sandals, or water shoes are optional, they may also get wet or muddy
- Hat and shades with strap are optional
- A towel may come in handy
- Stay after to take pictures
Fill out the Liability Waiver now if you have time
