Beginner's Jazz Jam Workshop

If you are looking for no judgment and no pressure place to start your jazz jam practise you are the right place !

Every week we welcome a mixed group of beginner jazz musicians and encourage collaborative and friendly jam session at Nardis Studio in the heart of Shoreditch, 1 minute walk from Brick Lane.

Set list for the session
Bag’s Groove (Blues – Milt Jackson) – Key: F
Nardis (Modal – Miles Davis) – Key: E minor
St. Thomas (Latin/Calypso – Sonny Rollins) – Key: C
Misty (Ballad – Erroll Garner) – Key: Eb

Players: 2 drummers, 2 bass, 2 pianists, lead (brass and vocals) 4-6
For Vocals, please, note the keys and make sure they match your expectations.

Equipment: We have grand piano in the studio.
Drum kit -cymbals are included but you are more than welcome to bring your own.
Vocals - microphone and amp available in the studio.
Bass/Guitars - must bring your own amp.

Keep in mind that the session is set up to be acoustic and natural so if you want to use any specific equipment, please, bring it along.

Who leads the session
Sergei Istrati, founder of Nardis Studio is a professional jazz musician, pianist and composer.With a degree from Royal College of Music (BA/MComp) Sergei has 10+ years experience performing at various events and stages, both solo and in different bands (duo/trio). He also teaches piano/jazz piano and is full of tips and wisdom. He will make sure the session runs smoothly, will coordinate on the day the orders, help with set up and when needed you can always get his advice. Sergei has set up the Nardis Studio in the heart of Shoreditch to compose his music, host living room style concerts and jam sessions like this ones. Preparation for the session
Please, familiarise yourself with the track-list and make sure you are prepared to play with others as well as head(tune) and solo.
To make most of the session you need to come prepared. The key provided will be the only key on the day (important to note especially for vocals).

Cancelation Policy
We look forward to hosting you at Nardis Studio. In the event when your plans change, please, give us a notice at least 48 hours before as the sessions are built around certain instruments and we need to make sure the session runs smoothly. No refunds are offered but we will book you in for the next available session that works for you.
