Humanitarian Networking

Details
We are delighted to present this brilliant online JCI Dublin event to you. As often as possible, Jack strives to be an idealist in vision, and a pragmatist in execution. Jack takes a very keen interest in all facets of sustainable development - through diplomatic work, business development and innovation, and policy coherence. This interest is showcased across his endeavours; as United Nations Youth Delegate for Ireland, Founder of Moyo Nua, and advocate for topics including the UN SDG's and mental health.
The role of United Nations Youth Delegate for Ireland enables Jack to exercise diplomatic and international skills to adequately represent the voice of youth. The role has brought Jack to the UN HQ in New York for the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) and General Assembly, the Palais des Nations in Geneva on two occasions, the UN Working Party (CONUN) at the Council of the European Union in Brussels, among many other fora and assemblies.
Jack also runs Moyo Nua, a social enterprise movement which he founded as an Irish Young Scientist (BTYSTE) project in 2017. Moyo Nua, a dual-language term between Irish and Nyanja meaning 'New Life', works towards a world where the lives of smallholder farmers are vastly improved through Global North - Global South collaboration, and social & environmental sustainability is the norm. Jack's leadership has taken the project worldwide: featuring on Forbes, winning the WTCA student enterprise world cup, and placing in the top 0.16% in a project pool of over 75,000 projects for the Hult Prize.
When he is not focusing on his UN or Moyo Nua roles, Jack uses his personal knowledge and experience to advocate for multiple issues, primarily the UN SDG's and mental health. The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's) are 17 Goals outlined in the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Jack's key priorities for the SDG's are the inclusion of SDG's in business practices, and the mainstreaming of the SDG's into society - particularly amongst youth. Beyond this, Jack uses his personal experiences of mental health challenges to advocate for destigmatizing and normalising of mental health issues amongst youth through public outreach and public speaking.
