Join Jefferson Humanists for our monthly program where we will enjoy
Brady Young's presentation, Braver Angels: How to Talk to People You Disagree With

Braver Angels (https://braverangels.org/) is a national, volunteer-driven movement working to rebuild civic trust in a time of deep division. They focus on understanding why people believe what they believe, not just what they believe, and equip Americans with the skills to engage across differences. Through workshops, debates, trainings, and action pathways, Braver Angels helps communities build trust, find common ground, and work together for the common good.
Too many Americans today are isolated from people who see the world differently, and that separation strains our communities, our families, and our ability to work together for the common good. We believe our country can thrive when more of us step into the work of bridging divides — and that where we go from here is up to all of us.

Brady Young will describe the work of Braver Angels, give some examples of how Braver Angels works, and explain how we can get involved.

About our Speaker
Brady is a Braver Angels moderator and ambassador in Colorado and serves on the steering committee for local alliances. He first discovered Braver Angels while sorting out his own political beliefs and was struck by a debate that modeled a better way of engaging across differences. Since then, he has helped build and co-chair the San Diego alliance and joined the National Organizing team to support alliances across the country. Rooted in his commitment to Jesus’ call to be a peacemaker, Brady sees rebuilding civic unity as essential to making progress on any issue. He holds a master’s degree in organizational leadership and has 5+ years of experience working in political peacebuilding at the local, state, and national levels.

This program is hosted by Jefferson Humanists, a chapter of the American Humanist Association.
