Join Jefferson Humanists for our monthly program titled, Insights to Solving Our Climate/energy Crisis presented by retired Colorado weather forecaster, Mike Nelson.

Mike Nelson, the Denver Meteorologist who was brave enough to discuss climate change on the evening news, will be giving an informative and hopeful presentation about how to solve our climate/energy crisis and improve our standard of living and national security.

Mike Nelson is a well-known meteorologist who served until his retirement as the Chief Meteorologist at Denver7 for over 20 years, 13 years at Channel 9 News, and has a career spanning nearly 50 years in television meteorology. He has won multiple Emmy awards and is recognized for his contributions to weather forecasting and education.

This program is hosted by Jefferson Humanists, a chapter of the American Humanist Association.

To ensure we set up enough seats, please RSVP on this Meetup or by email to RSVP@jeffersonhumanists.com.

In addition to our monthly program, our Humanist Helping Humanity group is collecting school supplies to donate to The Action Center's BACK TO SCHOOL SUPPLIES DRIVE of 2026 for the fast approaching school season. Distribution of school supplies is early August, so we are asking members to contribute however they prefer before July's end. Standard items are needed, especially backpacks and writing supplies, so please plan to drop off items to express our Humanist values of caring for our communities and responsibility towards altruism and service.
