Sci-Fi Discussion: The Tin Man's Ghost & Lolo's Last Run

In July, we invite you to read two short stories: The Tin Man's Ghost by Ray Nayler and Lolo's Last Run by E.M. German.

The Tin Man's Ghost (19 pages)
In an alternative history where the US reverse engineers technology from an alien space ship, a telepathic Cold War spy is pulled into the mind of a Soviet war-robot built from her missing partner's memories. She discovers a ghost in the machine willing to sacrifice everything to stop the atom bomb.

Lolo's Last run (9 pages)
A spectral paramedic in the Spirit Rescue Service recovers the body of a musher killed in a crevasse fall, then chooses to defy orders and carry the man's dying, injured lead dog toward safety—only to realize, once the dog's spirit lingers even after the man is delivered home, that what she truly needs is one last joyful run together.
