In October, we invite you to read two short stories: The Greenway by Susan Palwick and The Imaginative Youngster's Handbook to UFOs by Will Ludwigsen.

The Greenway (32 pages)
A mother and her two small children are the last survivors in their small settlement, located in a harsh, frozen landscape where humanity has a strange, biological relationship with nature. They wait for the arrival of the caravan that will both collect the last of their dead and bring a new spring.

The Imaginative Youngster's Handbook to UFOs (8 pages)
Written in the second person, Ludwigsen's story is framed as a retro, late-1970s style guidebook pulled off a library shelf by a misfit, lonely child. It begins as a charming, slightly humorous set of instructions on how to spot UFOs and ends as something more.

Please read these stories on your own and come
to the meeting on October 22nd to share your thoughts.

"You may have noticed by now that adults find it difficult to hold a mystery in their heads without explaining it. When they don't know enough to make a theory, they build an answer from their own fears." - From The Imaginative Youngster's Handbook to UFOs
