Leaving —or even questioning— the Jehovah’s Witness faith can feel isolating and confusing. This first meetup is a relaxed, supportive introduction to the group and a chance to connect with others who truly understand the experience.

This is not a debate, therapy session, or anti-religion meeting. There’s no pressure to share, no agenda to change anyone’s beliefs, and no expectations to have answers. You’re welcome exactly where you are.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • A calm, respectful, and confidential environment
  • Open, facilitated conversation (participation is always optional)
  • People at all stages: questioning, fading, inactive, or fully out
  • No preaching, recruiting, or fixing—just listening and support

TENTATIVE AGENDA:

  • Welcome & ground rules (confidentiality, respect, no pressure)
  • Introductions (optional — you can simply listen)
  • Open discussion
  • What brought you here
  • Common challenges after being raised JW
  • Identity, family, beliefs, or rebuilding community
  • Closing & next steps (future meetups, staying connected)

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Yourself — exactly as you are
  • An open mind (sharing is optional)
  • Any drink or snack you’d like for yourself or to share
  • A notebook if you enjoy jotting thoughts down (optional)

No preparation required.

LOCATION:

  • The exact location and any entry details will be shared with confirmed RSVPs to protect privacy.
  • Look for a small, friendly group — no signage or public announcements.
  • If you’re unsure you’re in the right place, message the organizer through Meetup.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • This group values confidentiality and discretion
  • No photos, recordings, or social media posting without consent
  • All stages of belief and disbelief are welcome

If you’ve been feeling alone in this process, you don’t have to do it by yourself. We’re glad you’re here.
