Pre-Day-of-Jenkins meetup
Details
Given that Jenkins experts are traveling to Oslo for Day of Jenkins on June 1st, we decided to invite them the evening before for a free Meetup to get in the spirit!
5.00: Food, drinks and Jenkins-mingle
5.30: Oleg Nenashev, Engineer at CloudBees and Jenkins core team, will talk about Managing security in your Jenkins instance - Cheat Sheet.
When it comes to Jenkins instances with hundreds of users, security management becomes one of the most challenging areas. It is hard to retain status quo between security itself and its impact on user experience due to the restrictions and performance degradation. Oleg will briefly talk about Jenkins security and plugins providing advanced security management: Role Strategy, Job Restrictions, Authorize Project, etc. He will also present an Ownership-based security engine, which he has developed.
6.00: Hans Georg Næsheim, Consultant at Praqma, will give an introduction to Jenkins Pipelines
Pipelines are a major priority for CI tools these days, Jenkins being no exception. This talk gives you an intermediate walk-through of the Jenkins pipeline, focusing on how to use them and the benefits of doing so.
6.30-7.30: Andrey Devyakin, CEO of Praqma Sweden and long-time Continuous Delivery practitioner, will run a Mob Programming session on the Jenkins pipeline.
Guess what? The new Jenkins pipeline plugin is all about defining a flow as code which means that we can do a mob programming session around Jenkins pipeline. You get to learn more about Jenkins pipeline as well as try out mob programming. How cool is that? You do not need a laptop for this session. We will provide one as well as exercises.
