Groovy is a powerful, optionally typed and dynamic language, with static-typing and static compilation capabilities, for the Java platform.

Applications benefits from scripting capabilities, Domain-Specific Language authoring, runtime and compile-time meta-programming and functional programming.

Jenkins is scripted using Groovy and in particular in Jenkins 2.0, Pipeline execution engine based on continuation passing style transformation of Groovy scripts.

We will learn Groovy programming in the context of scripting various tasks in Jenkins.
