What is this?
I was looking at the submissions to JUC Palo Alto (http://www.eventbrite.com/event/6367028955) , and noticed that there are many great submissions from large-scale Jenkins users who are pushing the boundaries of the scalability, such as managing jobs/slaves, inter-master communication, and so on.
Unfortunately JUC doesn't have enough speaking slots to accomodate them all, so we are holding this Jenkins Scalability Summit the day after JUC.
The idea is to gather people who are interested in this area. The number of those people should be small, so that we can have a lot of interaction. We'd like attendees to share stories and where their struggles & pain points are. The goal is to better understand the prominent issues those large users are facing, and come up with the small number of concrete improvements that we can implement to address them.
In the afternoon, we'll start deep-diving into the design and get some coding started.
This event occurs the day after Jenkins User Conference Palo Alto (http://www.eventbrite.com/event/6367028955) so you can travel to attend both. You do not need to be registered for JUC Palo Alto to attend this event.
Who is this for?
This event is intended for the following people:
Existing serious large-scale users of Jenkins You need to be interested in participating, not just listening
At the end of the day, we'll produce a note that captures the identified list of tasks, the discussion, and any designs we came up with. If we manage, names of people who are volunteering to hack would be great.
This enables the community at large to look into it and provide their feedback.
