Jetta Point Park Trash Clean Up Day
Details
We will be removing trash from this Seminole County public land which is home to bald eagles, gopher tortoises and other wildlife.
Please park at Black Hammock Trailhead and meet up by the gate shown in picture.
What to bring:
-friend(s) :-)
-gloves
-water
-consider wearing jeans due to thorny vines and saw palmettos in off road areas.
-heavy duty trash bags for smaller items.
-carts, hand trucks or wheelbarrows for larger items, i.e. pipes, scrap metal, tires, buckets
-optional: hat, insect repellent, sunscreen, rope and shovel for pulling semi-buried trash
-I'll take move the pile to transfer station on another day because it's closed on Sunday, unless anyone has a trailer and would volunteer to haul it to Geneva landfill.
Please use caution when moving pipes, tires or buried items as animals may be under or inside. Please do not attempt to cross fence along 417.
Restrooms and water fountain are close to parking lot along the Cross Seminole Trail.
Fine to arrive late and self-organize. Recommended to stay in open areas if working alone and unfamiliar with the area. 417 (traffic noise) is east, parking lot is north.
