Democracy in Israel is facing many serious challenges. This is of major concern for global Jewry, particularly American Jews. On Saturday, August 12, Kahal Am will sponsor an online talk with Richard (Rick) Barton about the present political and social issues facing Israel. This will be an opportunity to present your questions about this topic.

Mr. Barton has traveled to the Middle East and Europe for meetings with Israeli and Palestinian leaders. He is an engaging speaker on this subject, as well of other topics of interest for Jews. Mr. Barton has previously served on the national board of the Anti-Defamation League. He is currently a lawyer at Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch LLP in San Diego and an adjunct professor of law and health care policy at University of San Diego.
