💡 Speaker One:
Oleg Šelajev, Developer Relations, AtomicJar
Title of Talk:
Better integration tests for Kafka applications with Testcontainers
Abstract:
Testing distributed event-driven systems is hard but without robust integration tests you cannot ship with confidence.
In this session we explore how Testcontainers libraries allow you programmatically create, manage lifecycle, and configure ephemeral instances of Kafka.
Whether you're working on the JVM, writing Go, .NET, or node.js apps, Testcontainers approach gives your flexibility and confidence to reliably test your code.
Bio:

💡 Speaker Two:
Danica Fine, Sr. Developer Advocate, Confluent
Title of Talk:
HA/DR and Kafka: A Primer
Abstract:
If you’re using Apache Kafka in your company for real-time insights, you know that keeping your data safe and available is critical to your operations. Deploying a high-availability, disaster recovery (HA/DR) strategy for your Kafka workloads can increase availability and reliability of your mission-critical applications by minimizing data loss and downtime during unexpected disasters.
In this session, we’ll first explore how Kafka and high-availability go hand-in-hand and then introduce a number of HA/DR strategies used in the Kafka ecosystem––such as active-active, active-passive replication, and multi-regional stretched clusters. From there, we’ll discuss the tools needed to implement and automate many of these strategies.
Bio:
Danica Fine is a Senior Developer Advocate at Confluent where she helps others get the most out of their event-driven pipelines. Prior to this role, she served as a software engineer on a streaming infrastructure team at Bloomberg where she predominantly worked on Kafka Streams- and Kafka Connect-based projects. Title of Talk:
DevOps in Microservices: Challenges and Best Practices
Abstract:
In recent years, the adoption of microservices architecture has gained significant momentum, thanks to its ability to break down large, complex software systems into smaller, more manageable components. However, deploying and managing microservices at scale can be a daunting task, which requires a robust DevOps process to ensure fast, reliable, and continuous delivery of software.
In this talk, we will explore the unique challenges of DevOps in microservices, and the best practices to overcome them.
