POISON OR ANTIDOTE—THE KLESHAS (POISONS) ARE THEY JUST FOES, OR FRIENDS

In Buddhism, the three poisons of greed, anger, and ignorance are regarded as mental, afflictions, that cloud the mind, and are the root cause of our suffering and discontentment. Our conditioned reaction is to see these poisons simply as enemies that must be avoided or eliminated. But, what if we see them as our teachers and the very springboard to insight and awakening?

Learning to see these poisons within ourselves, to embrace them and work with them and to ultimately transfer them into understanding and wisdom, is at the heart of the Buddha's teaching.

Join us for an evening of Zazen, (seated meditation) Kinhin (walking meditation) chanting of the Sutras and a Dharma discussion—both in-person and online.
