What we’re about
We are a group for busy Jewish professionals to participate in group volunteer projects at Houston area non-profits. In the future, we might have planning meetings at kosher or completely vegetarian restaurants depending on the interest.
This is not a political action group or a spiritually focused group. There are existing organizations for those topics. We don't tell you who to vote for or how to pray. There is no charge for volunteering.
Hopefully, Reform, Humanistic, Cultural, Conservative, Reconstructionist, and Orthodox Jewish professionals will get along and help wonderful non-profits doing good for the Houston area.
Most volunteer events will be scheduled to minimize conflict with the Jewish holidays and standard work schedules, with plans for events mainly on Sundays or after work if a non-profit is closed on Sundays.
Singles and couples are welcome. Many non-profits will also welcome kids.

JKindHouston is a professionals group, and behavior that is not acceptable as friendly or legal in a professional setting is also not acceptable for the group. Harassment, exploitation, fraud, and demeaning behavior do not belong here.
We don't want to see single people being harassed, unwanted sales pitches, unwanted 'spiritual' proselytizing-outreach (people insisting that others attend a particular religious service/program), or people arguing too much about the Jewish religion.
