So I am going to leave the US on October 17 and arrive in Johannesburg on the 18th. The 19th going to do a day tour or Soweto (the township famous during Apartheid) and visit the apartheid museum. On the 20th going to go from Johannesburg to Welgevonden (about 2.5-3 hours from Johannesburg). Staying at a lodge which only has 5 rooms from 20-26. The lodge does 2 game drives a day with snacks included, breakfast, lunch, dinner. I have been to Welgevonden 3 times before and wants to try this lodge (have always stayed at a different lodge). Drives focus on the big 5 - trying to spot them. Usually good interactions with Lions, giraffes, elephants, zebra, rhinos, and other wildlife. Very restful and peaceful. On the 26th go back to JNB and then I am staying until the morning of the 28th but leaving anytime after 7:00 the 26th works for getting back.
